A Case of Sparganosis Infestated in the Labium Major

Abstract
|
|
|
Sparganosis is a rare parasitic infestation caused by plerocercoid larva of sparometra erinacei.
The majority of infestation involves the subcutaneous tissues, but the vulvar area of female is rarely involved.
We experienced a case of vulvar sparganosis that showed as painful palpable left vulvar mass for 2 months initially.
Simple excision was performed with granulation tissues contained a live sparganum measured about 16cm in length from the left labium major.
So we reported this case with a brief review of the literatures.
